Breastfeeding in Public


Breastfeeding in public while not a preference, you might sometimes find yourself in a situation without much of a choice. It is common to fear breastfeeding in public if you are a new mother.

You might even wonder if breastfeeding in public is accepted in Malaysia. While some tend to have a strong opinion or a dislike to those who breastfeed in public, breastfeeding in Malaysia publicly is accepted so long this is done discreetly.

Tips for breastfeeding in public
  1. Use a blankie or a cloth - by covering yourself, you should you might probably want your cloth to be huge yet airy so your baby is comfortable feeding underneath.
  2. Wear clothes that give you easy access
  3. If you can choose, choose a place that is rather quiet and less busy - this helps keep you and your baby comfortable.
  4. Practice at home before you do it in public ensures that you are prepared and gives you the extra boost of confidence.
